Have you slid into SUNDOWNERS @sundowners.id album “Better Than That”? BEN and LILY serve up ten monster tracks, each full of very dodgy life advice. For example… JONGO has been experimenting with dropping the opening lyrics of “Tonight” to strangers around the cafes of Ubud while attempting to pick up a sexy Russian girlfriend; so far, it’s no luck for him!
Of course, the album features all ya’ faves (“I Don’t Care”, “Do It Again”, “Masterpiece of the Sky”) along with new bangers. On VOLCANO we are spinning every track, listen up, this week we have “Wave It Good” featuring guest vocals by GESTA RANGGA @gesta.rangga of @hellomicrophone and @kanekuro_ fame and “My Man” on high rotation.
SUNDOWNERS only seem to play live one or two times a year, so you have to make a special effort to enjoy their visual and audio feast! Some weeks back VOLCANO made the seven-hour round-trip journey from our remote Bangli base to Canggu to catch them. Gosh, the gig certainly didn’t disappoint; glam, avant-garde, impressive dancing both on stage and in the pit, it’s quite the experience! The merch is amongst the best we have ever seen! - including SUNDOWNERS brand 99% Halal Tempe Orek, mmm tasty!
FLUCTUS @fluctusberselancar never miss a wave! These guys dropped yet another sea shanty last week - “Lautan Lepas” (Last Link). Wax up and catch it along with their other breakers, “Beda Dunia” (Different World) and “Flower” on VOLCANO.
Those crazy youngsters SOURMILK @sourmilkclub are getting well-deserved airplay on UK, Spanish and American radio! And of course, you can catch them every few hours on VOLCANO. Listen up, their latest killer, “Sike” is in our studio.
Ubud’s CLOSE FRIENDS @closefriendsid Asha, Kusuma, Monoh and Ista have invented a new alternative genre; imagine Midwest EMO played by happy/cheerful people! We LOVE both the sound and their art - VOLCANO is spinning the debut single “Pink Skies”.
