Nagoya’s perpetual pop-punk brats, ACROBAT SHONAN @acrobatshonen were the first JAPANESE band KOMODO ever played on air - we spun them in our very first hour of broadcasting! So of course, KOMODO is spinning their just-dropped single “Can't Remember Your Name” - their 5th single in 2 years! The hyperactive trio are out touring it. Catch them live tonight in NAGOYA City at Imaike HUCKFINN, FUKUI on April 2nd and then down to SUZUKA City on Sunday, June 11th.
It’s too short, cold, dark synth and wonderful - PILLHS CASTLE @pillhs.castle have dropped over to the KOMODO studio their single “Pain”. This release marks the transition of the Malang INDONESIA band from a duo to a quintet. These guys are deeply intense, and “Pain” explains that endless delaying of your responsibilities is pointless because this simply delays the awaiting celebration. Hmmm, OK, that’s interesting - maybe we will give that a try sometime, maybe we will try that tomorrow.
Inspired by video games, teen movies and (we guess) powered by Krating Daeng, the self-acclaimed “Most Underrated Band in Thailand” ELECTRA COMPLEX @electracomplex.official are back on the KOMODO weekly poster with more of their lulling shoegaze. “If Only” features dreamy chorus vocals by FLOUR IN THE GARDEN @p.flourinthegarden - so marvellous, and of course, it’s spinning on KOMODO. Back in East Java INDONESIA (Malang - wot again!!), we have stumbled across more of that amazing post-punk/new wave that seems to ooze out of the jungle between the volcanos. Re:NAN @renan____________________ use a sequencer as their main beat and then combine it with guitar, bass and synth to create magic. Their new release “Leave” is the first single off an upcoming EP full of danceable, and 80s-inspired sound. Check out the video and bake a cake - being single and alone is a great way to live! Life can be so much fun but run with care - don’t trip over!
